Ecstasy in Solitude

About this book

Dr. Priyantha Navarathne's "Ecstasy in Solitude", is a fascinating story of enlightening the mind of the human being, which is a break away from his other books written on Computer Science, Buddhism and Child Psychology. "Ecstasy in Solitude" makes him an explorative writer with his remarkable experience in the forest monasteries of Sri Lanka and Myanmar. He is an Executive Committee Member of the Malalasekera Foundation and he makes his contributions to ALOKA, an international Buddhist Magazine as an Advisor to the Editorial Board. He was bestowed with the Golden Dhammadutha award by the World Alliance of Buddhists (WAB) in 2021 to mark his yeoman service to spread Dhamma in the world. At present, he serves as the Vice Chairman for Sangha Ordination and Meditation Retreats of the WAB.

"Ecstasy in Solitude" explores the story of a boy stranded in a jungle and his experiences, which draw the readers to a new world of higher mental perceptions. As the narrator travels from a state of misery, confusion and suffering to a new world of enlightenment, the reader also journeys along the same path. The story depicts how solitude, when experienced in the right manner, can play an important role in the spiritual development of an individual. It also emphasizes the fact that experiencing solitude can minimize one's attachment and pave the way to attain Nibbana.

"Ecstasy in Solitude" would be an amazing reflection of understanding the reality of life for adults stranded in a highly commercialized world and even for children caught up in a complex, competitive education system.
