"String of Archaeological Sites in the East Coast and Other Articles"is the latest publication of Dr. P.G. Punchihewa, the author of more than forty books both in English and Sinhalese. The present work has thirty five articles which, over the years have been published in local and foreign newspapers . The subjects of these articles range from archaeology, history, reminiscence. current topics, travels, Buddhism, book reviews to well-known personalities. Punchihewa had received the State Literary award twice for the best children's book and for the best English translation for Shattered Earth : translation of his own novel "Gana Bol Polawa " Punchihewa served as a senior administrator in the Government of Sri lanka, retiring from the post of Secretary of a Ministry and later as the Executive Director of an intergovernmental Organization in Indonesia. Widely travelled locally and abroad his experiences are very much reflected in his writings.
