No 14 - Hanan Street

Someone asked me what countryside life is really like. It is like sprinkling a bit of salt and pepper over Turkish pide bread, soaking it in an egg wash made with fresh cow's milk, topping it with sesame seeds, and eating it steaming hot after toasting both sides. It is like the sound of golden pan-fried potato slices seasoned with parsley, crunching perfectly with every bite.

It is like the aroma of hot pasta tossed with sunflower seeds, basil leaves, and olive oil, baked with a generous helping of mozzarella cheese. And it is like the sound of pouring a hot cappuccino, onto a wooden table where a bouquet of lilies smiles from a porcelain jug, surrounded by six old chairs.

"Romana lives in a small village in Australia" these are now my favorite words to hear. Within those words lies everything about me!
