The English Translation of Award Winning Youth Novel 'Ahasa Polowa Lanwela' (1991 State Award for the Best Youth Novel)

This novel for the youth entitled 'Earth and Sky Blend in Harmony' written and translated by Dr Ranjit Dharmakirti, won the State Award for the best novel for the youth, in the year 1991. Dr.Dharmakirti who is also an award winning Writer Dramatist and a University lecturer. Dr Dharmakirti has already written and translated seven novels for the youth, out of which five have own State Awards, which itself is a record.

This novel, deal with a story where a small girl builds a

friendship with a Squirrel through which she draws the attention of the readers towards sensitivity and the importance of safeguarding our fast diminishing environment.

A chapter of this novel, was included in the six standard multi text book system, and also a text for the 4th standard students.
